CNN, based in Atlanta, Georgia, is a network that forever changed to fixed time news industry. Ted Turner, whom was adamant to fulfill the legacy of his late father, expanded his business in Atlanta across the growing media spectrum, including the creation of Turner Broadcasting Show and the purchase of the Atlanta Braves Franchise.
At the time of the launch, strongly established news networks such as ABC, CBS, and NBC flourished in the news industry with their 30 minute night-time shows. The historical purpose of the creation of CNN was allow the latest information constantly exposed to the public. CNN's endeavor was successful in the process, changing the perspective of fixed time news and became the first news network in the world bearing 24 hour broadcasts. Currently, CNN applies to a gigantic, worldwide audience and has built upon it's credibility over the many years it has existed after it's first broadcast. |
